DENNIS WAYNE NUCKOLLS, age 86, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, March 11, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.  Mr. Nuckolls was born in Marion, North Carolina on February 3, 1936, to the late William Howard Nuckolls and Florence Ethel Moore Nuckolls. He met and married his wife of 59 years, Pat in North Carolina, after their marriage they moved to Winchester and became co-owners of the former Hudson Bakery from 1959 until becoming full owners and later selling the bakery in 1976. It was then that Mr. Nuckolls became the City of Winchester's Recreational Director until his retirement in 2012. He was an avid U.T. football fan and especially enjoyed watching all SEC teams play.  He enjoyed deer hunting in his younger years and was an organizer of the 8 pt. Hunting Club and especially enjoyed the "social" part of the club.  He was a member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church.  He and Pat worked diligently for over 50 years with the Fall Creek Falls family Camp until their health prevented them from doing so.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nuckolls was preceded in death by his wife, Pat in 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Nuckolls of Winchester, Son, Kyle Nuckolls and wife, Lisa of Nashville, Tenn., Grandsons; Graham Nuckolls of Chattanooga and Hudson Nuckolls of Nashville, Tenn., Sisters; Jan White and husband, Forrest of Nebo, NC and Carolyn Wilson, of Marion, NC.  Nieces and Nephews; Jody Griffin, Richie Biddix and wife, Julie, Eddie Biddix and wife, Tonya and Jeff Moody and wife, Sharon all of Marion, NC.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Winchester First United Methodist Church with Bro. Randy Brown and Pastor Steve Angus, officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 Noon Saturday until Service time at 2:00 at the Church.
