TOM KENNETH MCMILLEN of Estill Springs passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Highpoint Health in Winchester at the age of 72. A native of Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Keith Parker and Marilou Wiley McMillen.

Before retiring to Tennessee, Tom spent most of his life in South Florida working on boats in the marine service industry. In his early years he built and raced off-shore race boats in Miami, Fl. He was a skilled tradesman as a metal machinist, known for the craftsmanship he brought to every project he touched. Now retired, Tom lived life in a laid-back and easygoing way. He had a passion for ultra-light air planes, enjoyed working projects, barbecuing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Sierra Rasmussen and twin brother, Don McMillen. Tom is survived by his wife, Kate McMillen of Estill Springs; children, Tom J. McMillen of Port St, Lucie, FL., Laura McMillen of Stuart, FL, Chris McMillen of Hobe Sound, FL, Tiffiany Welsh (Chris) of Sebastian, FL, Madison King of Estill Springs, and Bailey Rasmussen (Kendall) of Wellborn, FL; sisters, Alice Jones of Williston, FL. Pam Kuty of Cleveland, TN and Cindy Beegle of Birchwood, TN; eight grandchildren, best friend, Fred Jones (Anita) of Port St. Lucie, FL, in addition to many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Florida.
