TINA LOUISE MATHEWS, 62, of Decherd, Tennessee, passed away on June 21, 2026. She was born on December 17, 1963, to Norman Johnson Jr. and Connie Reed. Tina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend who was loved by many. She had a heart for animals and spent many years fostering dogs and helping animals in need. Her faithful dog, Piper, was always by her side. Tina spent much of her life riding horses, and her little farm brought her endless joy and happiness.

Above all else, Tina loved her family. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren and looked forward to every holiday gathering. Creating special holiday baskets for her children and grandchildren was one of her favorite traditions, and she found great joy in bringing happiness to those she loved. Holidays brought Tina joy because they meant spending time with the people she loved most.

Tina's kindness, compassion, love for animals, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Johnson Jr.; stepfather, James Reed; and sons, Joshua Knapp and Justin Knapp.

Surviving are her husband, Troy Mathews of Decherd, Tenn., mother, Connie Reed of Decherd, Tenn.,  Aunt, Helen Henson of Asheville, North Carolina; children, James (Brandy) Knapp of Decherd, Tenn., Christian (Ashley) Johnson of Warsaw, Indiana, Brett (Katelyn) Baldwin of Inverness, Fla., Grace Mathews and Isaac James of Decherd, Tenn.; and eight beloved grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tina's life  at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Decherd Seventh Day Adventist Church. 200 N. Diagonal street , Decherd, TN. 37324.
