STEVEN D. SANDERS, age 70, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at STRHS Winchester.  Mr. Sanders was born in McMinnville, Tenn., to the late Joe Ben Sanders and Eliza Jane Page Sanders on February 25, 1947.  Mr. Sanders was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was retired from the Batesville Casket Company in Manchester, Tenn. where he was employed as a Fork Lift Operator.  He is a member of the Riva Lake Baptist Church and a member of the church choir.  He was also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. His hobbies included collecting coins and vintage Volkswagens.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Joan Sanders of Winchester, sons; Robert Sanders of Summitville, Luke Sanders and wife Vivien of Tullahoma, step-daughters; JoJo McBee and husband Cliff of Lynchburg, Tenn., Corey Simmons and husband Robbie of Winchester, sisters; Janice Harryman of Manchester and Linda McCormick and husband, Chuck of Beech Grove, and 6- step-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Sanders will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday evening, April 16, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Mr. Sanders will lie in state at the Summitville Baptist Church in Manchester from 10:00 A.M. until Service time at 2:00 with Bro. Larry Sanders officiating.

Interment will follow in the Summitville Cemetery with military honors bestowed.
