STEVE ALLEN MATHEWS, age 64, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following an extended illness.  Mr. Mathews was born in Winchester, Tenn. to the late Bill Mathews and Dorothy Luttrell Mathews on October 22, 1953.  He was a self-employed backhoe operator for over 40 years.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and coaching Little League teams in Estill Springs, working in his greenhouse, plants and his "honor box system".  He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shane Mathews.  He is survived by his sister, Vickie Krupek and husband, Mike of Franklin, Tenn., Life Long Companion, Carolyn Conry, Step-Daughter, Candy Watson, daughter, Ashley Stuteville and husband Gary of Lewisburg, Tenn., Grandson, Case Anderson, Granddaughter, Savannah Watson all of Estill Springs, Nephew, Jason Krupek of Franklin and his beloved dog, Hannah.

Visitation for Mr. Mathews is scheduled for 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 21, with Services to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor Dean Northcutt, officiating.
