SHIRLEY JEAN VANHOOSER PHIPPS, age 75, of Tracy City, Tenn., departed this life to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Phipps was born in Manchester, Tenn., on March 20, 1943, to the late Sam H. Vanhooser and Etta S. Boyd Vanhooser.  She was a homemaker and helped Mr. Phipps on their poultry farm. Mrs. Phipps enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phipps was preceded in death by her sisters; Jewel Campbell, Lucille Meeks, Alma Vanhooser, Polly Wiley and brothers; Sam Jr., J.B., John Leonard, David "Schougs" Vanhooser.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jack Phipps, son, Roger Phipps and wife, Lisa of Tracy City, grandchildren; Mandy Bennett of McMinnville, Lukas Phipps and wife, Abby of Monteagle, and Spenser Phipps Duncan and husband, Eric of Monteagle, great-grandchildren; Ethan, Alora, Gretchen and Linkoln.  Several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Phipps chose cremation with no services scheduled at this time.
