RUTH JEANETTE HAUPT MARSHALL, age 81, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life at her residence on Friday, May 22, 2026, following an extended illness.  Ms. Marshall was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on March 30, 1945, to the late John Joseph Haupt and Marguerite Louise Haupt.  She was employed for many years as Director of Environmental Services at two different Nursing Homes in Virginia.  Ms. Marshall resided most of her life in Fredericksburg, Virginia and relocated to Franklin County in 2007.  Ms. Marshall was of the Pentecostal Faith.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and watching T.V. shows, her favorites were about people living "off the grid" in Alaska.  When she was younger and healthier, in prior years, she always had a vegetable garden, as well as flowers.  She will be remembered for her "feisty ways" and her intolerance for clowning around and silly banter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Timmy Arnold, sisters; Martha Ann Haupt and Alice Haupt and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her sons; Patrick (Patty) Marshall of Livingston, Montana, Michael Marshall of Decherd and Jennifer Marshall Arnold of Stafford, Va., Grandchildren; Cody Boutchyrd, Emily and Brandon Marshall. Sisters; Anna Mae Haupt of Leavenworth, Ks. And Joyce Amos of Jacksonville, Ark.

A Memorial Service will be held in Virginia at a later date.
