ROY ALLEN RUSSELL, age 93, of Fayetteville, Georgia, departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at his residence succumbing to a five-year battle with congestive heart failure.  Mr. Russell was born in Nashville, Tenn., on August 2, 1931, to the late Percy Reese Russell and Bessie Mallory Russell.  He was in the Armed Forces of the United States Army, First Lieutenant Finance Corps.  After leaving the Army he was employed at Sears and Roebuck as a Comptroller for approximately 30 years.  Following his retirement at Sears he launched his own accounting practice which he operated for 34 years.  He continued to work until the day he died.

Mr. Russell was an Elder and leader for many years at the Fayette Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, Ga.

Mr. Russell loved College Football and passionately followed the UT Vols.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 71 years, Vivian and son, Allen Russell.

He is survived by his son, Gary Russell, of Fayetteville, Georgia and Grandsons, Mark (Fara) Russell of Panama City, Fla., and David Russell of Chicago, Ill.  Many nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 28, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services, with Bro. Shane Scott officiating. Visitation for Mr. Russell will be held from 12:00 Noon until service time on Saturday at 1:00.

Interment will follow services on Saturday at the Bethany Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tenn.

At a Later date a Celebration of Roy's life will be held at his Church in Fayetteville, Ga., These details will be announced upon completion.
