ROY LEE MCCORMICK, age 92, of Normandy, Tenn., departed this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.  Mr. McCormick was born in Hillsboro, Indiana on Feb. 8, 1929, to the late Howard Earl McCormick and Ruth Glee Clodfelder McCormick.  Mr. McCormick joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He received his degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.  He earned a degree in Mathematics and a Doctorate (DCS) in Computer Science.  He taught for over 30 years at Ball State University before his retirement.  Upon retiring he and his late wife, Clara moved to Colorado then Arizona and in 2010, they moved to Tennessee.  They loved to travel and had visited 45 of the 50 states before moving to Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Clara Mae Richardson. He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl McCormick of Normandy, Son, Jay McCormick and wife, Maggie of Muncie, Ind., Grandchildren; Tiffany Caldwell of Muncie, Ind., Katherine McCormick, Jay McCormick, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Caldwell, all of Muncie, Ind.

It was Mr. McCormick's wishes that he be cremated. A Graveside service will be held at a later date.  Mr. and Mrs. McCormick will be interred together at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Muncie, Ind.
