Obituary

Philip (Phil) Gregory Sellers passed from this life on May 18, 2026 at 59 years old. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.  While we are incredibly saddened and heartbroken, we celebrate that Phil is now breathing easy, is no longer in pain, and smelling the sweet incense of Heaven.  Phil was born July 2, 1966, to the late Frank and Myrtle Sellers.  Originally born in Cincinnati, OH, Phil moved with his family to Tampa, FL, as a young boy. He loved playing sports, particularly baseball. He especially loved his family, including his Grandma Hattie and her amazing cooking/baking.  A gifted athlete, Phil played baseball in college and carried the love of the game throughout his life. He loved all sports and was a huge fan of The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Phil met Angie at Bethel College in 1991. They quickly got married and had their two boys, Philip and Andrew, the two things he was most proud of in his life. Phil never met a stranger and will be remembered for a generous heart that was as big as he was, his sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved most.  His family and friends will forever cherish the memories he created, his smile, warmth, and charm.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Frank A. and Hattie Sellers; and maternal grandparents Marshall and Verna Mae Knuckles. He is also preceded in death by his nephew, Matthew Eason, and sister-in-law, Michele Tyndall.

Phil is survived by Angela Sellers, his loving wife of 34 years; sons Philip (Allie) Sellers and Andrew Sellers. He is also survived by his siblings, Melanie (Dave) West, Lynne (John)Herrick, Betsy Sellers, David (Marnie) Sellers, and Tim Tyndall.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
