NANCY ELLEN BRANNAN TAYLOR, age 88, of Gallatin, Tenn., formerly of Huntland, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tenn.  Ms. Taylor was born in Rutledge Hill, Tenn., to the late George Partin Brannan and Elizabeth Margaret Sherrill Brannan on April 28, 1934.  Ms. Taylor was of the Baptist Faith.  She was an accomplished seamstress and at one time did upholstering of furniture in her home.  In her later years she was employed by the Franklin County Archives for several years and the Franklin County Historical Society.   She thoroughly enjoyed studying and researching genealogy and traveled extensively for her research.  She was very proud of becoming a member of the Jamestowne Society which are descended from early settlers who lived or held colonial government positions in Jamestowne, Virginia prior to 1700, or who invested in its establishment.  She had a wonderful smile and will be greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Melvin Taylor and brothers; Edward and Rodney Brannan.

She is survived by her son, Ray Taylor and wife, Maria of Live Oak, Fla., step-son, Melvin Taylor of Prattville, Ala., grandchildren; Tonya, Samantha, and Stephanie Taylor, Sara Hensley, Tim Stephens and Mark Stephens.  Sisters; Patricia Rohling and husband Wilfred of Lithia Springs, Ga., Linda Bennett of Gallatin, Tenn., Georgiana McCollum of Covington, Ga. and Sherry Tiedt and husband, Christian of Gallatin, Tenn.,  brother, Jonathan Brannan and wife, Nancy of Hendersonville, Tenn.,

Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Visitation will be held prior to the service in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M. on Friday.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Huntland, Tenn.
