LYDIA ZARA LAWS MATTHEWS, age 89, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Laurel Oaks Retirement Home in Winchester, Tenn. following an extended illness.  Ms. Matthews was a homemaker.  She was born on October 10, 1927, to the late General Gaston Law and Emma Irene Farmer Law in Moultrie, Georgia.  She is survived by her daughters; Brenda Gail Ferguson of Estill Springs, Tenn. and Janet Elaine Peterson of Manchester, Tenn.  4-grandchildren and 1-great-grandchild.

A graveside service is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at the Hopewell Church Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga. with Bro. Sonny Pinchard, officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to one of the following; the Estill Springs Methodist Church, Laurel Oaks Retirement Home or Amedisys hospice.
