Obituary

LINDA GAIL GRAHAM BLANKENSHIP, age 79, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness.  Mrs. Blankenship was born in Estill Springs, Tenn., on November 1, 1944, to the late John Mathis Graham and Flossie Alma Graham.  She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Winchester.  Mrs. Blankenship was first employed as a receptionist for Hatcher Dental in Fayetteville, Tenn., she then became the bookkeeper and manager for her husband's plumbing company, Blankenship Plumbing for approximately 35 years.  Mrs. Blankenship enjoyed fishing, cooking and entertaining for her family and friends.  Most of all she loved to sing.  She loved to travel and was on a cruise ship and approached the staff about singing with the band, they told her, "no one sings with the band," she watched them go on break, followed them and went in the room where they were and asked them if she could sing with them. They asked her to sing for them, when they went back on stage, she was the first to sing. She also went to Germany by herself and brought her granddaughter back home with her.  She will be remembered for her love of music, her talent of singing and her love of life and her pets.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years and 11 months, Clifford Blankenship of Winchester, Daughter, Michele (Chris) Sells of Winchester, Son, John (Carla) Blankenship also of Winchester.  Grandchildren; Marcie Emmert of Winchester, John Blankenship, Jr. of Virginia, Whitney (Adam) Mahaffey, Jared Sells both of Winchester, Jay Ray Blankenship of Dunlap, Tenn., Teresa (Javier) Flint of Knoxville, Tenn., Destiny Blankenship, Domonick both of Shelbyville, Tenn., James Sells, Jr., Winchester, Tenn., Tristan Blankenship of Shelbyville, Tenn., Chaz Blankenship, Mckenzie Sells of Winchester and Chauncey Blankenship.
