JOHN HARVEY RAY, SR., age 67, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at STRHS Winchester, Tenn. Mr. Ray was born in Lynchburg, Tenn., on May 25, 1949, to the late James Harvey and Ethel May Helton Ray. Mr. Ray was disabled. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ray enjoyed fishing and riding his 4-wheeler before becoming disabled. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Freida Solomon Ray of Estill Springs, sons; John H. Ray, Jr. and Robert M. Ray both of Tampa, Fla., Ted Ray of Winchester and 7-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for 12:00 Noon on Monday, December 19, 2016, in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Services to follow at 2:00. Interment will follow in the Pennington Cemetery in Winchester.
