GAIL BARBARA POPOVICH, age 76, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at STRHS Winchester Skilled Care following an extended illness.  Ms. Popovich was born in Tullahoma, Tenn., on April 22, 1945, to the late Robert Stamps Burks and Sybil Frye Burks.  She was a member of the Estill Springs First Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher.  She taught at FCHS for approximately 46 years.  Ms. Popovich enjoyed playing Legend of Zelda her favorite video game.  Her other hobbies were reading science fiction books, especially Harry Potter books, working crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and cross stitching.  She will be remembered as a devoted teacher, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jim Popovich and a brother, Johnny Burks.

She is survived by her son, John Popovich and wife, Melinda of Manchester, grandchildren; Erin Davison, Tristan Davison and Robert Popovich.

It was Ms. Gail's wishes that she be cremated. A Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
