EDWARD MAHAFFEY, JR., age 73, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life at his home in Winchester following an extended illness on Friday, September 18, 2026.  Mr. Mahaffey was born on February 23, 1953, in South Pittsburgh, Tenn., to the late Floyd Edward Mahaffey and Vinnie Smith Mahaffey.  He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Henley Construction and Dennis McDade Construction before retiring.  Mr. Mahaffey loved woodworking and working on old cars.  He could do anything he put his mind to and could repair anything.  His family was the most important thing in his life and he dearly loved them.  He will be remembered for his uncanny ability to make everyone laugh and his fun loving personality.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Donna Kelley Mahaffey, his sisters; Patricia Rogers and Darlene Rogers.

He is survived by his daughters; Angie Robinson and husband, James of Shelbyville, Tenn., Kayla Swafford and husband, Jake of Estill Springs, Tenn. and son, Ed Mahaffey of Winchester.  Grandchildren; Skylar Seagroves (Jaden Henry) of Shelbyville, Tenn., Maleigha Walls, Kaiden Mahaffey of Estill Springs, step-grandchildren; Brandon (Kristina)Robinson of Clarksville, Tenn., Ashley Robinson of Nashville, Tenn., Dustin, Swafford and Emma Swafford of Winchester, several great-grandchildren.  Siblings; Brenda (Rex) Farris, Joann Hoback, Charlie Jernigan, Myrtle Richards, Floyd Mahaffey and Charlie Mahaffey.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday evening September 21, 2026,  in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services LLC.

Services for Mr. Mahaffey will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services

Interment will follow at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved, Donna.
