DOROTHY STELLA ROONEY RAY, age 93, of Decherd, Tenn., formerly of San Francisco, California, departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at her residence following an extended illness.  Ms. Ray was born on July 10, 1926, in San Francisco, California, to the late Charles Rooney and Stella Duffin Rooney.  She was a protestant. Ms. Ray was employed as a quality control inspector for many years with Memorex and Lenkurt Corp. She enjoyed gardening and rescuing animals.  At different times during her life, she lived in Santa Clara and the Silicone Valley in California.  She was a self-proclaimed costume designer.  She enjoyed designing Halloween costumes and dressing up in them.  She was known to be "feisty" and dearly loved her family.

Ms. Ray is survived by her daughters; Donna Hadley and husband, Dennis of Winchester, Karen P. Stude and husband, Phil of Golden Valley, Arizona, grandsons; Kevin Hadley and wife, Kayla of Decherd, Keith Hadley and wife, Julia of Tullahoma, granddaughters; Denise Zanetta of Golden Valley, Arizona, Christie Ybarra and husband, David of Clarkston, Washington, Brandi Cook and husband, Brian of VanCouver, Washington.  Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. No services are scheduled at this time.
