DOROTHY JEAN FRANKLIN, age 84, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, November 27, 2017, at STRHS in Winchester.  Ms. Franklin was born in Lincoln County, Tenn., on May 27, 1933 to the late Luther Cowan and Velma Sanders Cowan.  Ms. Franklin was of the Church of God faith.  She was a homemaker and loved animals.  Most of all she will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Jim Thomas Franklin, son, James Franklin and infant daughter, Patty Franklin.  Brother, William Cowan and sister, Christine Cowan Melton.  She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ashby, sons; Jimmy Franklin and Allen Franklin and wife, Kathlene all of Winchester.  son, Marty Franklin of Manchester.  Grandchildren; Misty Hamilton and husband, Jason of Winchester, Stacy Ashby of Manchester, Tim Franklin and wife, Sabrina, Chris Ashby and wife, Crystal all of Winchester.  Brothers; Chester Lindsey and wife Rosiland of Fayetteville, Larry Lindsay and wife, Nancy of Hazel Green, Ala., sister, Pauline Smith and husband, Boyd of Fayetteville.
6-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Ms. Franklin will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.  Services are scheduled at 1:00 P.M. Thursday evening in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Don Parker, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
