DONALD WAYNE POWERS, age 78, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, December 9, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Powers was born on August 10, 1944 in Winchester, the only child of the late, Joe Bill and Martha Lightfoot Powers. A lifelong resident of Winchester, he graduated from Franklin County High School. Don served in the Tennessee National Guard for 22 years and worked as a lineman for Duck River Electric Membership Corporation for 30 years. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed woodworking and talking and visiting with numerous friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda; daughter, Heather Winton; son-in-law, Ian Winton and granddaughter, Erin Winton, all of Winchester. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Greg Wells of Winchester and sister-in-law, Julie Poteat (Josh) of Cowan. Tenn.

Services for Mr. Powers will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 11, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Phillip McAbee, officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Powers will be held from 12:00 Noon on Sunday prior to the service at 2:00 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Interment will follow in the Winchester Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
