Daniel Walter
Mulligan Jr.
Mar 16, 1954 — Apr 1, 2026
Daniel W. Mulligan, Jr. passed away at home on April 1, 2026, following an extended illness. Born in Woonsocket, RI, on March 16, 1954, Dan spent much of his life in New England before retiring to Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Mulligan of Tullahoma; his sons, Tommy (Holly) Emidy and Daniel W. Mulligan, III (Meredith), both of Rhode Island; and his step-daughter, Emily (Kerry) Page of Tullahoma. He was the proud grandfather of Sophia, Madelyn, and JJ, all of Rhode Island. He also leaves behind his sister, Pat Green of Massachusetts, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and his faithful companion, Lady Bug.
Dan's career was defined by service. Before moving south, he served as the Fire Chief for the Waltham Lake Fire Department and worked for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. After settling in Tennessee, he continued to stay active, working in maintenance at Harton Hospital.
An avid lover of the outdoors and the arts, Dan enjoyed camping and taking his Jeep into the mountains. Music was a lifelong passion; he spent his younger years playing in a band and continued to find joy in listening to and playing music throughout his life. He will be fondly remembered for the signature beard and cowboy hat he adopted as his "Tennessee look."
Services will be held in Rhode Island at a later date.
