Claude ''Howard'' Farris, age 82, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on August 23, 2021, into the arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  He was born May 28, 1939, to the late Claude and Corrine Holiday Farris in Winchester Tenn.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years in south Florida as a heavy equipment operator before returning to his hometown of Winchester, Tenn.  Before retiring, he was the owner, operator of a small engine shop called The Lawnmower Doctor.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his 3 day old infant daughter, Sonya Kay Farris.  His brothers, Joseph and Donnie Farris of Winchester.  Sisters Mary Ruth Stewart of Cowan Tenn., Nell Hart of Brooksville FL, and Peggy Garrison of Winchester.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ola Gaines Farris.  Sons Rex (Kim) Farris and Eric (Robin) Farris.  Granddaughters: Ashley (Jake) Bills, Albuquerque, NM, Taylor (Jake) Askren, Winchester Tenn. and Isabella (Samantha) Farris of Atlanta GA.  One great grandson Logan Bills of Albuquerque NM.  Brothers: Wayne (Kathy) Farris, Morrison Tenn, and Mack Farris of Decherd Tenn.  Sisters: Ann McGowan, Winchester Tenn, Louise Garrison Winchester Tenn.,  Patricia (Dennis) Ingle, Wetumpka, Ala., Marie Cole of Dallas Ga., and Barbara Thompson of Winchester, Tenn.,    Also his 4 legged pal Sampson and his neighbors who were like family Ivy Whaley and daughter Katina Brady.

Visitation for Mr. Farris is scheduled for 4:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, August 25, 2021,  in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.  Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 26, 2021, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Interment will follow int he Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
