CAROL ANN COUNTS SIMS, age 82, of Huntland, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, May 6, 2022, at her residence with her loving family at her side. Ms. Sims was born in Flintville, Tenn. in the Currey home to the late Buford Anderson Counts and Edith Louise Currey Counts on August 25, 1939.  She was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.  Ms. Sims was employed at St. Thomas Hospital and Baptist Hospital in Nashville and did private duty nursing as well.  She was an excellent seamstress and later retired from the Vision Center at Wal-Mart in Winchester.  After her retirement she enjoyed gardening, her plants, reading and working puzzles.  She was also an avid bird watcher.  She was a loving mother and grandmother that loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Donald Counts and Jimmy Frank Counts, an Infant sister, Sara Counts.  She is survived by her children; Kay Luttrell of Huntland, Benny Sims and wife, Tammy of Foley, Ala., Stacy Sims and wife Joanie of Paducah, Ky., Kelly Thomas and husband, J.T. of Campton, New Hampshire, and Woody Sims of Chattanooga, Tenn.  Brother, Sammy Counts of Flintville, Tenn., 8-grandchildren; Jesse, Conner, Jake, Logan, Grace, Nicholas, Sophie and Ansley, 2-great-grandchildren; Lincoln and Elliott.  Special friends; Jerry and Dana Toon. Several other family members and numerous friends also survive.

A Graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the Flintville Cemetery in Flintville, Tenn., with Pastor Keith Gilliam, officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Phillip McGee and the staff at Clear View Cancer Institute in Huntsville, Ala., and Avalon Hospice of Winchester.
