They had two children, a son, Morris Frank "Mark" Schwartz III and a daughter, Patten Schwartz Laurel. James Harris Patten Jr, her only sibling (a younger brother) passed away in the 1990's of a heart attack. He had two children, a son, James Harris Patten III and a daughter, Kathy Patten Courtney. Betty Jo also has three granddaughters and at least one great grandchild.

Per her wishes, she is to be cremated, and Betty Jo requested no memorial services be scheduled since many of her life-time friends live all over the U.S. Her ashes will join those of her husband, Earl Jones. She would like for everyone to know that her favorite Charities are taken care of in her will. You might want to remember her through your favorite charity or better still she would like for you to share your favorite story or an event about her for the book, which began by her husband in the 70's who found her life very amazing. A number of her late friends and those still living have already contributed to the book. This book is to be published after her death.
