ALFREDO ORTIZ, age 73, of Decherd, Tenn., formerly of Villa De Chilapa De Diaz, Oax, Mexico, departed this life suddenly on  Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at STRHS Winchester.  He was born on January 12, 1949 to the late Francisco Ortiz  and Flora Hernandez Ortiz.  Mr. Ortiz joined the Mexico Marines when he became of age.  He then graduated from Technical School in Mexico as an Electrician.  He moved to Tennessee in 1973 and lived in Franklin County briefly before returning to Mexico when he married his wife, Berta.  He relocated back to Franklin County in 1995 and has made his home here since.  He was first employed as a seasonal laborer at a few different plant nursery's.  He decided in 2001 to open his own Lawn Care Service, Ortiz Lawn Services which he owned. He is a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Winchester.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted Husband, Brother, Father, and Grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Juana Alberta "Berta" Ortiz of Decherd, Tenn., Children; Flor Edith Ortiz of Mexico, Angel Francisco (Ana) Ortiz of Decherd, Tenn., Raymundo (Anna Marie) Ortiz of Unionville, Tenn., Luis Angel (Lucy) Ortiz of Tallahassee, Fla., Brothers; Salvador (Rosa) Ortiz of Shelbyville, Tenn., Conrado (Leticia) Ortiz of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Roberto Ortiz of California, Crisoforo Ortiz of Mexico, Sisters; Martha Ortiz and Maria Del Socoroo Ortiz both of Mexico. Grandchildren; Carlos Ortiz (Ana), Miguel Ortiz both of Decherd, Rogelio Montez and Alberto Montez both of Mexico, Allison Martinez and Lucas Martinez both of Tallahassee, Florida. 3- Great-grandchildren; Gabriella, Elise and Javier.

Services for Mr. Ortiz will be conducted at 10:30 Thursday, December 29, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Winchester with Father Anthony Mutuku, officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Ortiz will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, December 28, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
