Wilma Jean Laster, age 77, of Huntland, departed this life on Sunday, October 09, 2011 at Alive Hospice At St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN  following an extended illness.  Ms. Laster was of the Baptist Faith.  She was employed for almost thirty years at Amana in Fayetteville before retiring.  Her hobbies were quilting, canning and gardening.  She was a loving and devoted; mother, sister, grandmother and wife to her late husband, Walter Laster.

Ms. Laster was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie Laster, sisters; Oma Dell Moore and Iva Brinkley and a brother, Buis Moore.    She is survived by her children; Johnny Sam Laster of Portsmouth, VA, Betty Ann (Jimmy) Rose of Lynchburg, TN, Judy Lynn (Cliff) Tidwell of Winchester, Patricia Faye Farris of Flintville, Carl Eugene (Vickie) Laster  and Joseph Shannon Laster all of Huntland, brothers; Levoy (Overa) Moore and Jackie (Pauline) Moore  all of Huntland, sisters, Judy Ellis of Waco, TX and Doris Kellogg of Memphis, TN,  seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren., several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation for Ms. Laster is scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5:00-9:00 P.M. in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.  Services for Ms. Laster will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Oct. 12, with Bro. Ray Gardner and Bro. Mike Robertson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Moore Memorial Cemetery in Huntland.
