Willie Shorty Shetters, age 74, of Sherwood, TN, passed away at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee, TN on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Before retiring Mr. Shetters was employed for over 55 years as a sawer in a Saw Mill. Mr. Shetters was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Russell and Audy Shetters, Daughter, Frieda Wilkerson, Granddaughter, Brittany Sue Shetters, Brother, J.D. Shetters and Sisters; Mary Jane, Annie and Betty Carol Shetters. He is survived by his wife, Sue Shetters, Sons; William and wife, Crystal Shetters and James and wife, Julie Shetters, all of Sherwood. Grandchildren; Heather Franklin, Mark Summers, Kenneth Wilkerson, Jr. and Davie Nard. 5-Great-grandchildren. Brothers; Joe and wife, Sue Shetters of Maryland, IL and Russell Lee Shetters of Louisiana. Sister, Peggy and husband Leon Pendergrass of Chattanooga.
Services for Mr. Shetters are scheduled for 1:00 PM Sat. April 10, 2010 at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Sherwood. Mr. Shetters will lie in state at the Church beginning at 2:00 P.M. Thursday all day Friday and until service time on Saturday. Sister Betty Reed officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Sherwood.
