JACKSON, Vera Durham Solomon, age 85, of Winchester, TN, departed this life on Friday,
October 2, 2009, at The Willows at Winchester Care and Rehabilitation Center following an
extended illness. Mrs. Jackson was employed for many years as a seamstress last working at
Lanier Clothing in Decherd, TN. She was a member of the Little Mountain Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Thomas Solomon and husbands; Thomas
Solomon and Ralph L. Jackson, Sr. Brothers; Ollie and Lee Durham and Sisters; Mary Stines,
Katherine Arnold and Louise Meeks, and the beloved aunt that raised her, Mary Lee "Auntie"
Durham. She is survived by her Daughter- in-law, Judy (Gary) Zimmerman of Winchester.
Grandson, Tim (Ann) Solomon of Winchester. 5-Great-Grandchildren; Craig (Tanya) McCallie,
Josh (Destiny) Solomon, Cassie McCallie, Logan Solomon and Kierston Solomon. Step-son,
Ralph (Maria) L. Jackson, Jr. and Step-Daughter, Sharon Rollins both of Winchester.
Services for Mrs. Jackson are 3:00 PM Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral
Services with Bro. Ed Boggess, officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Garner Cemetery
beside her late husband, Thomas Solomon. In lieu of flowers the family requests that
donations be made to the Alziemer's Association, 201 W. Lincoln Street, Tullahoma, TN
37388.
