Joe Pattie, of Tullahoma, passed this life on the 16th day of November, 2009. He was born Feb. 2,
1930, in Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. Pattie, Sr. and Mary Barnett
Reynolds; one son, David W.H. Pattie, and one great-granddaughter, infant, Erica Pattie. Mr. Pattie
was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his country during the Korean War. He received his master
machinist certification from Union Carbide at Oak Ridge, TN, before relocating to Tullahoma in
1964. He was employed by AEDC, MicroCraft and also co-owned Downey's Auto Parts with his son-in-
law, Sam J. Lemmons. During the 1970's and 1980's he was an active member of the Tullahoma
Lions Club, serving as its president in 1980-81. Mr. Pattie has been active at St. Paul the Apostle
Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Council 3991. Joe, along with his wife, Mary were
honored by the Tullahoma Kiwanis as Lay Couple of the Year 2009. He is survived by his wife of 57
years, Mary Hopkins Pattie; one son, John (Heather) Pattie of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Mary Jo
(Vickie) Pattie, Reading, Michigan and Sarah (Sam) Lemmons of Manchester. Nine Grandchildren
and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his beloved aunt, Eugenia Barnett Angelo, of
Madison, MS and many loving cousins. Memorials may be made to the Church of your choice or St.
Paul's Debt Reduction Fund.
