Goldie Mae Brents, age 93, of Decherd, TN departed this life on Thursday, June 10, 2010. She was born in the town of Booneville, Prentiss County, MS on Nov. 23rd, 1916. She has been a resident of Decherd, TN for 68 years.
She was employed for many years as a seamstress. She is a member of the Greenhaw Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late John and Aulena Arnold Bachuss of Iuka, MS, her husband of 52 years, Charlie Brents, a son, Johnny Cowden Brents, granddaughter, Deborah Arnold Stevens Sutherland, sisters, Mary Belle Bachuss and Cleao Brents and a half-brother, Cap Arnold.
She is survived by her daughters; Jean Arnold Zimmerman Gunn of Huntland, TN, Beatrice Henry of Decherd, TN and Marie (Sherman) Pruitt of Iuka, MS. She is survived by grandchildren; Lisa Henry, Donna and Robert Pruitt, Paula Brents Crosslin, John Brents. 11-Great-Grandchildren and 3-great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Ms. Brents are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. John Gipson and Bro. Donald Gregory officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens beside her late husband, Charlie.
