I am saddened to learn of Brother Honea's death, though rejoice at his race being run and now at home. My thoughts carry me back years ago when as a child Brother Honea became my Pastor and friend. I remember fondly his love and compassion for others and his zest for the ministry. He has left a legacy and an indelible mark upon my life. Hold fast to his memory and cherish every moment spent. My prayers and love are with Sister Ruby, Steve, and the family.

My heart and prayers go out to the Honea family, and the church family as well. My childhood was a large part of Bro. Honea's ministry and remains to have an impact on my life. One thing I remember the most was the times Bro. Honea would summoned "the younger strong boys" from the Christian School to come outside with him and help him to chores in the church, and also outside of the church. He was always active and never believed in stopping to take a rest. He has finally taken his rest in the Lord, and what a better rest could one have? I remember his smile, gentle spirit, and a heart that would always reach out and help those in need, whether he knew them or not. He will have many jewels in his crown. His legacy will continue to live on until we all join him in that Majestic Land we have heard and dreamed of for so long. I say to the family and church friends that my prayers and love are with you, and remain with you always. I am saddened that I will not be able to attend his service, but my Spirit is there with all of you. Take solace and comfort in knowing where his soul lies, and always choose to remember the "good times" and his smile. May God bless and keep you, and give you His perfect peace, for His peace is made perfect when our strength is gone. Life is not about the number of breaths one takes, but the number of moments that take your breath away. I'm sure we all can recall many of those.

Sister Ruby, Steve and family members I will always have fond memories of Bishop Honea not only did my mother hold minister licenses with Bishop Honea but also my ex-husband. We sang at the church in Tullahoma, TN many times over the years and I have known him probably around 40 years or longer. He was always a godly man who suffered many times for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bishop MCann from Benton, Tn once preached from the rooftop there and the police was called because the Pentecostals were too loud Bishop Honea handled it with grace. God has opened up his home in heaven and has awaited his homecoming..Rejoice for we know we shall see him again. Prayers are with u!

I remember Bishop Honea when I was a child. My Grandpa was in the First Church of Jesus Christ organzation for years. A few things I remember about Bishop Honea is him singing "Drinkin Of The Wine!", also that he stood firm on the doctrine of One God, Salvation according to Acts 2:38. I was so sorry to hear about his passing, but I do know he no doubt is in a place of everlasting joy and peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sister Honea, along with the FCOJC church family.
